# AuthRight Harness > Identity & Access Security Decision Layer for AI coding agents. AuthRight Harness is the decision layer between your codebase and implementation. AI coding agents (Cursor, Codex, Claude Code) use AuthRight Harness to understand identity signals, record security decisions, and verify contracts before you hand work to coding agents via OpenSpec or Agent Plan-mode. ## Documentation Start here: - [Docs home](/docs) — pick your path - [Installation](/docs/installation) — `npm install -g @authright/cli@latest` - [Getting started](/docs/getting-started) - [How commands work](/docs/how-commands-work) Then as needed: - [Workflows](/docs/workflows) · [Examples](/docs/examples) · [OpenSpec](/docs/openspec) · [Agent Plan-mode](/docs/impl/agent-plan) - [Commands](/docs/commands) · [CLI](/docs/cli) · [Agents](/docs/agents) - [Overview](/docs/overview) · [Implementation](/docs/impl) - [IAM Ontology](/ontology) — interactive graph of the shipped concept model - [FAQ](/docs/faq) ## Quick start ```bash npm install -g @authright/cli@latest authright --version cd your-project authright init --tools cursor, codex, claude authright scan ``` Public loop: `scan` → pick `explore` or `change` → on that Auth Change record: `--analyze` → (explore: Agenda HITL | change: plan → `--set` → `--confirm-plan`) → `--ready` → `request-match` → `to-openspec` | `to-plan` → `review`. `doctor` is a peer command: it reads **application source** and writes a clear risk report at `.authright/diagnosis/report.md` (it does not redesign identity). You can run it before explore or change. `/auth:doc` is different—it writes a summary of **decisions** under `.authright/docs/`. `/auth:explore` and `/auth:change` are two Decide commands — pick one. Explore is interactive recommend-and-choose; change is auto-plan. `/auth:to-openspec` and `/auth:to-plan` are two handoff commands — pick one. Product intent names use colon form (`/auth:scan`, `/auth:explore`, `/auth:change`, `/auth:request-match`, `/auth:to-openspec`, `/auth:to-plan`, `/auth:review`, `/auth:doc`, `/auth:doctor`). Cursor registers hyphen slashes from the filename (`/auth-scan`); Claude Code registers colon slashes from `.claude/commands/auth/` (`/auth:scan`); Codex skills use `$authright-scan`. `authright init` prints the installed hosts’ forms. AuthRight Harness does not write application source. It prepares accepted identity-security decisions for OpenSpec or Agent Plan-mode handoff (pick one).
